2. To celebrate the Tercentenary of Capability Brown Sir Harold Hillier Gardens have published a beautiful colour guide and trail across the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, showing examples of the trees and shrubs that Capability Brown used in his own landscapes.

6. Whitchurch Silk Mill in Hampshire has received a confirmed grant of £1.7m from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for the Preserving the Fabric project. The project aims to regenerate the Grade II* listed Georgian gem – the only working silk mill in Britain open to the public – and establish its financial sustainability.
